China's forex market transacts 21.58 trln yuan in May
BEIJING, June 21 (Xinhua) -- China's foreign exchange (forex) market recorded transactions worth 21.58 trillion yuan, equivalent to 3.09 trillion U.S. dollars, in May, said official data released Wednesday.
Specifically, the transaction volume of the client market totaled 3.27 trillion yuan last month, while that of the interbank market stood at 18.31 trillion yuan, said the State Administration of Foreign Exchange.
Regarding products, the cumulative transaction volume of the spot market was 8.91 trillion yuan, and that of the derivatives market was 12.66 trillion yuan in May.
The country's forex market transaction volume totaled 101.87 trillion yuan in the first five months, the data showed.
